Queenstown, the Adventure Capital of the World
The first blog is dedicated to the best place that I’ve been to so far, hailed as the adventure capital of the world — Queenstown. One must not dare leave this place without doing anything extreme. This is a resort town boasting its finest lakes and beautiful snow capped mountains. On some days, I get a chance to travel alone, reflect, stop by a picture postcard scenery and write, and on some days, I was joined by friends to marvel the beautiful places. These are the reasons why this is my fave vacation spot:
I was able to scratch this off my bucket list: paragliding. Flying thousands of feet up, this activity gave me better view of scenic places in Queenstown
Took this shot, before I dared to try paragliding. The weather was fine back then, wind just right.
Milford Sound: Do not ever visit Q without going to the famous fjord boasting the hundreds of temporary waterfalls. This is named as the world’s top travel destination in an international survey.
Considered this as one my fave shots. The hundreds of temporary waterfalls on the way to Milford Sound amazes me
Snow capped mountains, breath-taking lakes, colorful tulips.. these too-good-to-be-true sights which I was able to see on my favorite season: spring! 🙂
Feeling Lord-of-the-Ring-ish. Misty mountains must have been shot somewhere in this place
Meeting other travellers. I’d never forget the time I was approached by a Danish lady who seemed to have taken pictures of me while I was paragliding and sent all the pix to my email.
“You should run fast in order for this fly. Don’t embarrass yourself, lots of people are looking now”, said the stern paraglider to me. Thank God there was sufficient air to make it fly!My fave shot of Mirror Lake. You’ll see this on the way to Milford Sound. It’s amazing that the reflection of the sky looks sharper than the actual one. What could be more relaxing than staying in a luxury hotel apartment overlooking the breathtaking view of Lake Wakatipu. We got a good discount at Oaks Club Resort 🙂Foodgasm! I probably went to heaven after tasting this salmon teriyaki. This is a must-eat when you visit NZSiblings Marion and Jaypee joined me on my Milford Sound adventure. Wine tasting on our last night togetherLucky to have visited Q on the best season season! November was the end of spring then.Yes, I’m fascinated with flowers in blue or purple, they’re my fave subjects in micro photographyAs I jot this, I’m sitting in cool memorial park, birds chirping in delight, leaves swinging rhythmically & the winds blowing, creating a tingle underneathe you. In front of me lies the mystical Lake Wakatipu, situated at the foot of snow capped mountains. There are Scottish-style houses beside the park & bright, colorful flowers to accentuated them — 11/12/12, 12:13 PMAn inspiring quote to live byAwaiting for sunset at Lake Wakatipu, my last day to travel alone at Q
