Nami Island, aside from it being the first place that I’ve explored in South Korea, I consider it the best that I’ve seen in that country for the reason that it dramatically changes its beauty along with the turns of different seasons. At the time we visited, it was the end of summer. Place was surrounded by tall trees in green, flowers of different colors were in bloom. It was bright and sunny yet you’d feel the cool breeze.
How to get to Nami Island: Nami is an Island in Chuncheon. From Seoul, the best way to go to Nami might be the shuttle at Tapgol Park. Note that it leaves at 09:30am. As we missed the shuttle, we opted to go by subway. It was quite a long ride but I’d say it’s worth it. a) alight at Gapyeong station (Northeast side) b) take a taxi going to the ferry (may only cost around 3,000 won) or take a long walk c) before taking the ferry, pay for the entrance (8,000 won).
Alternatively, there is a more convenient way of going to Nami Island that doesn’t hurt your budget (and this already includes the entrance ticket) – Nami Island Roundtrip Transfer
Oh yes, I’m happy to be in high heels! 🙂
Whenever I travel, those beautiful tall trees always leave me in great awe.
My favorite part is the Metasequoia footpath for the beautiful tree lanes. I know, you’d really feel as if you’re in some sort of Korean drama here 🙂
Things to do: a) Photoshoot: Go camwhoring as if you’re in a Korean drama b) Take the Charity Train: best not to miss every detail by taking the train and at the same time donating at UNICEF (costs about only 2,000 won) c) Roam in bicycles: We rented bicycles for 30 mins. It was one of the highlights of our visit and walked back from the bike rental going to the ferry.
I love playing around the depth of field..
Autumn is coming!! 🙂
With my travel buddy/college friend/thesis partner/roommmate…and oh, I’m taller than Roselle this time. lol
You’d see lots of Pinocchios here 🙂
This tiny half moon shaped island got more famous when it became the shooting location of Koreanovelas. Okay, I’m not much of a Koreanovela fan so little did I know that Winter Sonata was said to start the Korean wave worldwide. It was sad to know that actor Park Yongha had died. Curiosity got me so a week after I went to Korea, I watched the 20 episodes of this drama hehe..
Our first lunch in South Korea before going to Nami Island is yummy charcoal chicken. It’s funny because at that time, we do not know yet how to eat Korean way, and so we must have eaten the food in different orders.. hehe.
Looks like an amazing place to visit!
Beautiful photos!
